Grace Lake South Update

We’ve been fielding a lot of questions lately about the timeline for the sale of Grace Lake South lots.  Earlier today we received the following update from Jeff Humble, Director of Planning and Development at the City of Yellowknife:

“Public Works is working on the road profile which will provide the basis for the layout and construction costs. Once we have that piece we will be able to prepare a “draft” Development Scheme and Rezoning Amendment. This will likely take us into spring. With these by-law amendments a public hearing is required and Council needs to approve the marketing plan to establish lot prices and advertise the ballot draw.

For phase 1 we had lots on the market prior to the road being constructed. If we take this approach we could have the lots on the market by July or August.”
He was careful to point out that all of the above is dependent on City Council approval.
Several weeks if not months prior to the ballot draw information will be posted to this City of YK webpage outlining the ballot process.  All sales will be handled exclusively by the City, as is the case will all City lands.  But we’ll post updates to this blog to keep folks apprised of the situation.
